Keep Putting In The Work
It was only last November that I seriously started to watch the thoughts flowing through my head on a steady consistent basis – because I really, really wanted to change my life. I got very good at it, very fast and amazing things lined up for me. But I also found out very quickly that –
It doesn’t matter how good you get at this, if you don’t keep putting in the work your old habits will start again, one by one.
Just like the pathways through the forests and countryside. If the keepers don’t keep the vegetation under control and trimmed back, the pathways become invisible and unusable. If we don’t learn to keep out thoughts under control, our imaginations run riot in the wrong direction – and we can lose our way.
This is not something you learn, do it a few times and that’s the end of it. Catching yourself on a negative thought binge, or a negative conversation and changing the focus or changing the conversation is something you have to keep on doing every minute of every hour of every day.
Please don’t worry or beat yourself up if you find yourself thinking thoughts you don’t want. The important thing is that now you recognise when it happens. Look at it as a reminder of “where you don’t want to be” so you can think about where you do want to be.
Let it motivate you even more to re-focus on your goals and desires. Reminders are good if you look at them the right way. Keep putting in the work and as soon as you start to see the results – give yourself a pat on the back and congratulate yourself for being smart enough to take control of your own mind – and mouth.
